Collectwire is a global payroll and workforce management platform that enables businesses to onboard, manage, and pay contractors across Africa from a single platform. Alongside the employer dashboard, Collectwire also provides a web and mobile application that allows employees and contractors to access their payroll information, manage their accounts, and stay connected to their employers.
I redesigned the employer web platform, the employee web and mobile application, creating a more cohesive product experience across both touchpoints while simplifying payroll management for administrators and everyday interactions for employees.

The Challenge
Payroll products serve two very different audiences.
Employers need powerful tools to manage contractors, process payroll, monitor payments, and generate reports. Employees, on the other hand, need quick access to payslips, payment history, account information, and payroll updates without navigating unnecessary complexity.
The challenge was creating experiences that met the unique needs of each audience while maintaining consistency across the entire product ecosystem.
Design Process
Understanding the Product
I first mapped the core payroll journey to understand how administrators moved between contractor management, payroll processing, payment history, and reporting.
Simplifying Complex Workflows
Instead of exposing every feature at once, I grouped related actions together, reduced unnecessary navigation, and surfaced the most important information first.
Creating Visual Consistency
I introduced reusable components, standardized layouts, and clearer typography to improve consistency across the product and make future feature development more scalable.
